FINDING A HOME

After living in the Best Western For 5 Days...
      and looking at potential apartments,

We received a call from Ted Burgess asking us if we'd like to live in his home as he had just retired from his law practice and had signed a lease with his wife Rosemary to live in Arizona for most of the next year...

I said we'd be right over to talk...(they were concerned about the safety of leaving their home uninhabited while they were gone - which is a serious concern in Vancouver).

So we moved into their ground level 3 days later...(what a "tender mercy").

Dinner with Rosemary and Ted on their balcony.

We live on the lower level.

I get to do some gardening and that's Cashmere (the neighbors' dog).

The hydrangeas in the yard look like this well into November.

A November picture in July (tricky!)

The view from our window - we feel so blessed!

VANCOUVER VIA SPOKANE

We stopped in Spokane to drop off the boat and go to church in Spencer's future new ward.

Spencer will be moving in here in August.

View from an upstairs bedroom window

Liberty Lake is only 8 miles from his home.

And the Spokane Temple is 2 miles from his home.

The rolling green wheat fields from Spokane to Tekoa are magical.

Kenny and Michelle Hay are only a half-hour away.

Their new home

A priceless picture of Ezra (2) and Sam (1) they shared with us...

ON THE ROAD.....

                       Leaving the homestead...

One last stop at Sweet Tomatoes...    What kind of a mission is it when you take a boat with you?  (Actually, it was dropped off at Spencer's new home in Spokane on the way up to Canada since we will be missing McCall in August...)

Our GPS, "Barbara", tells us our mission is only 990 miles from home.

OUR FIRST BLOG EVER (It's a miracle)

David wanted an "official" missionary photo so in behalf of Barrus Photography...

                                                          June 27, 2010

My cute mother sent us flowers to wear for our "farewell".

.....and we find ourselves in the MTC the next day.  We have been called as "proselyting" missionaries to beautiful British Columbia for one year.  Our daughter, Amy Rebekah, will return from her mission to Sacramento, California/Spanish next April/May.  (Emma Jean was actually paid quite a bit to pose for this photo.)
